ESL will be soldered onto the ECU board, so you`ll need to plug it in get it mapped (as long as it will fit).

My advise is to book it in with a mapper drive it there then change the ECU there, as running an unknown ECU can do loads of nasty things, where as the mapper can set it up for you.

The ESl can be fitted to any early ecu where there is a carrier slot for it. most ecus dont have the carrier slot but as that 7D does it will slot straight in and take over control off everything map wise once mapped.
