Default Coilover dampener help - bit snapped off

Hi, recently when adjusting the front driver dampening on an HSD coilover the adjustment **** came free and fell out, i contacted driftworks who have been very helpful and prompt and sent me out a new **** which is different, they advise it is the new updated ****.

anyway when i put it in the hole it just spins freely and does not grip onto anything, if i let go of it it just falls out? how do they work? is there any other way of adjusting the dampening with an allen key or tool?

please see pics below, old **** is the green one and new one is the metal one. they both just spin freely in the hole its meant to sit?

Should screw into a black threaded allen head screw which winds up and down as you turn the adjuster??

Thanks tony, i cant see if the hole is threaded, either way both of them just sit in it spinning without gripping anything, i wonder if the green one i have snapped and some more of the metal is still in the coilover
