Default ej20 bottom end

i have an ej20 bottom end which im selling. Will it fit all classic impreza's? And im unaware of its history so is there any way i can tell that the pistons are forged whilst in the block? Thanks

It looks like a Version 3~4 from the shape of the piston crown (piston should sit approx. 0.010" above deck at TDC) and the 4 bolt bell housing (4 bolts,2 studs).

It will fit Version's 1~4 as a direct replacement.

I no the gearbox fits on these but I dont no about engine mounts etc.
