Just wanted to ask has im unsure if what ive been told is true?

my block has been sealed with black sealent,
and i have been told that subaru used red sealent when they put them togther, does this mean mines been apart or what ive been told is bull?

they use black sealant, or every block iv seen has. Never seen red

Usually its grey sealent, it is on mine but mine has been rebuilt at some point

I've only every seen grey, I would hazard a guess its been apart, Red is a common colour for industrial type rtv silcone sealant.

Grey 3Bond on the crankcase halfs or black on the late Hawk 2.5 and Hatchbacks.
Never seen red from the factory.

Your crankcases have defo been apart if its black sealant, would not worrie about it unless its running rough, should be grey sealant as black is just off the shelf common sealant, not subaru stuff. but im sure it will be just as good.
