Default Strangled!!

Open letter for help or similar problem.
I have read the letter where the engine management light comes on and any time and goes off again with no performance problem and it was the start of my problem. My car is 2litreAWD impreza and have tried on computer but no code registers. I now have to unconnect battery to re-boot the management if I want a drive without the engine feeling like it is being strangled and blips and jumps- almost un-driveable now with no obvious rules to its behaviour. My garage says maybe a sensor as when rebooted it works perfectly till the first time I turn of ignition but they dont really know. Feels like it has to much air/ petrol or not enough air/ petrol. Sometimes ,,,,if I floor it to stop it jerking it goes great - almost feeling like a turbo the way it shoots forward but sometimes not !!! Would so appreciate anyone who has had to sort similar symtoms out to help me out

We have taken it to the Subaru dealers we bought it from and they have plugged it in but it doesnt tell us what the fault is except to say it has a fault.
Would another Subaru garage be able to glean any more info?
I know of Powerstation but not sure if they can help as we have been told it could be some engine management sensor...but which one and they are expensive bits and they are all over it? controlling petrol/ oxygen for example i believe there are 4?? so am hoping to find someone who has suffered similar and can help

Bring it over to PowerStation tomorrow (Saturday morning that is). It's my day off but I'll be there anyway working on my own toys so I'll have a look at it if you like. Sounds easy enough.

Couldn't ask for more than that. I wish I lived near Powerstation

Powerstation are one of the best Subaru specialists around with far more knowledge and experience than a Subaru dealer.

Staggering over to Powerstation this morning
Wish I'd signed up to scooby net weeks ago
Hey while its going so well I am going to push my luck and ask if anyone has or knows of a used exhaust for a 2002 GX awd imprezza.. i have just been quoted the price for a new one and still trying to get my jaw back. Its such an amazing car we want to keep it going.
I went to Powerstation to get my original Irish import STI legal about 8 years ago when they were in Cheltenham
Thanks to Tony and Matt and Fuzz
