Default TMIC to Throttle body hose

Is it common for the standard pipe to leak when on boost

Car is running really well but when in 5th gear i'm hearing a slight sucking/woosh sound that i dont hear in lower gears.

I'm going to replace it tomorrow and see what happens.

(Car is 05 STI)

Extremely unlikely that this hose would leak. It's thick walled as long as the hose clamps are tight, there should be no leakage from that source.

I think the problem is when on boost it is stretching near the hose clamps. a new silicone hose should rule this out

I replaced mine with a nice red silicon hose which is actually thinner walled than the original item!
If you think this is where the problem lies, there must be a split?

Changed them over this morning the STD hose was not split but the top clamp was not really flush all the way round if that makes sense. Fitted the new silicone hose and carefully put the clamps back on and went for a drive. It now sounds a lot better in 5th so I'm putting it down to the clamp not being flush when I refitted it the first time.
