defi oil temp problem

Default defi oil temp problem

hi, just today i was driving and the oil temperature was working fine and was at 80 degrees and all of a sudden it went beserk and shot upto 150 degrees and set off the warning light, then dirving it went back to normal and then it came back and the needle is going beserk! is this possibly a sender problem? anyone else had this before,

Might be a sender problem or a faulty link wire between the controller and gauge or gauge to gauge link wire (they do tend to break/pull out of the connector).

check your wires, one might be earthing out somewhere

thanks for the replies, just fixed it, was a lose connection on the connector into the controller , shame i didnt know that and just drove 70 miles back with a bleeping defi
