Default 2nd cat removal on ppp

Hi people, looking to get my car mapped soon but I'm wondering will det only effect a ppp car if the first cat is removed? I would keep the 1st cat on and only remove the 2nd cat on for the ease at mot time when its getting mapped, but can the car run with just the 1st cat on and the 2nd removed whilst on the standard ppp map? if not ill just wait until map time.

its a 98 s plate uk 2000

thanks very much

Hi there personally i would remove cats, before remap, and really depend when you are want get car mapped.
Save money until you have all money for remap and fit decated exhaust before remap, really engine rebuild is not cheap.

Cheers jura, I would remove the cat before the remap day. The first cat looks a bit of nightmare to get to, so thinking of just removing the 2nd cat under the car.

Yes that's good,if you removing all cats day before remap, first cat/Downpipe is little bit hard, but if you good with spanners, you will remove without problem.

If you are remove just second cat,you will see small benefit or just slightly, but main "power killer" is downpipe.

On internet are few guides, how to do,good luck

Yours a MY99 year car?
PPP removes the centre cat and replaces with a resonator section, removing the first cat can cause det, but i would use a standard ecu (AE800/801/802) aslong as your car is an MY99.

So the centre cat is the 2nd cat I assume? With that being a resonator would it be ok with the ppp ecu? Sorry but it's like Chinese whispers on this site some times lol

Anyone?

Will fitting a straight through centre section be ok on a ppp without a map or will this result in over boosting, boost spike etc? The 1st cat is staying on.

Cheers

Hi there if you fit straight through center section you will be OK,and this will not cause over boosting or boost spike, this mainly cause decated downpipe.
