Can't get any clear feedback regarding the need for a remap after adding a sports cat and decatting the centre pipes on my own Bugeye WRX. Any experience? Would it be damaging not to map? Will performance change without?

Well if you're spending a few hundred pounds up-rating the exhaust then you would like some more performance. So a mapping session post exhaust change will really release that performance for you. At the very least you must get the car checked for certain scenarios, (running lean, over boost spikes or constant over boost and det of course), and then go from there. It's the downpipe that really has the great effect from the turbo backwards. To be brutally honest most cars would probably survive having not been mapped after. But for me common sense prevails as you have no idea without checking whether yours will be a survivor or not!

Hope this helps,

Graham

If you spent the ££££ on a new exhaust why not get an uprated air filter and an O/S map, an extra £300ish isnt gonna break the bank and will get you a increase in BHP and the grin factor
