Default please help

I have a uk 2001 wrx which needs burning.
I have rebuilt the engine, ftted a front mount and a vf34 turbo but I can not get it to run, hold tick over or rev up.
If you disconnect the maf it runs like new,so decided to replace it but it have gone back to not runing/starting then cutting out. I have checked every pipe and use gen gasket. The thing is i can block the intake off with the maf disconnected and it still ticks over fine/ no change at all.
just don't know what i can do next.
hopr you lot can help

Have you had the map checked since the rebuild, as you have changed quite a bit and cant expect it to run properly on the original map.

Also check you have the maf sensor mounted the right way as mounting it the worng way will cause issues.

First thoughts are, massive air leak. If you can block off the inlet and it still runs, then it must be drawing sufficient air from elsewhere.
