Default Which Btm Ends Will Fit?

Hi All

Just considering everything from all angles if possible

I have a V2 WRX thats got a slight/faint rattle at certain revs so from previous post/talking to people it looks like bottom end has started to fail

So question is.....

Which bottom end will fit? I believe the V8 uk STI bottom end will fit?
What other options do i have?
Or shall i just get a replacement lower mileage engine? as current dash reading is a mix of KMS/Miles reading 143000

also would like just a straight swap, so i can keep everything as is, i.e ecu ect (not sure if makes a difference ! )

basically after a safe/reliable running engine, nothing forged/uprated etc required (unless its a good deal!) so standard is fine
car only has a scoobyecu chip with supporting mods & its running super unleaded, so most id say 300bhp if all good.

Any info/price/advice greatly appreciated

Cheers

Whats a v2 wrx?
Anyway, it could be your heat sink over the turbo etc, you would need the car inspecting to see if the bottom end is on its way out and it normally lets you know pretty quickly, not just a faint rattle, normally a very noisy one from the off

oh i see! well i thought that i best put version 2 because its a 96 & thought most people would presume its the version 3!?
oh well its a Version 2 WRX or My96 wrx!!!!

looks like im going to go for the UK STI version 8 bottom end (not sure what year that is!?)
so all i would need is the appropriate head gaskets/exhaust gaskets/inlet gaskets etc.

Would the cambelt be the same? I have a graham goode one, only fitted in mid jan and probably only done 1000 miles. G.Goode website only list the one of theirs for subaru but i am unsure if it will swap!?
