yes mate you will need a remap as the spool up will be different with the headers and decat, you probably would have been ok with just the decat.

Yes (as above) and you can get your standard ecu remapped which will save you a bit on the cost of a simtek.

well if you find it hard, i would say dont drive it then...

if you do just get yourself ready for a engine rebuild, this is what alot of people do
is fit these kind of parts and expect go drive it round then blow there engine up
then wonder why it happened.

what car have you got ? age and version.... sti, uk ?

is there a limit to what an ecutek map can do or is it worth paying extra for a simtek

you are still relying on the maf sensor (simtek removes the need for it), there are two maps on a simtek and options of antilag and launch control..

I would say yes.
Simtek is good ECU,due have Mafless feature,ALS,LC,dual fuel map etc.
Definitely better than EcuTek all around

I got to 270BHP on ecutek but now run syvecs and it's much better! I know Simtek is a cheaper option and is very well respected but I'd pay the extra and go for syvecs based on my experience.

Ecutek is defo sufficient, I have simtek but would have gone ecutek if it was available for V2's There's alot to be said for retaining the many factory settings of the standard ECU Dual fuel doesn't really matter unless you want to run really funky fuel, LC is great only if you have the transmission to cope with it and antilag is fun but gets boring after a while.
