Do i need to map after exhaust change?
hi all ive just upgraded the headers and up-pipe on my v5 sti and i want to put a decat down pipe to finish of the system.
do i need to have a remap after all of this?
i understand to get the best of the system i will need a remap but will it cause harm until i do as im hopeing to get a simtek ecu in the future.
any info greatly apreciated

well if you find it hard, i would say dont drive it then...
if you do just get yourself ready for a engine rebuild,this is what alot of people do
is fit these kind of parts and expect go drive it round then blow there engine up
then wonder why it happened.
what car have you got ? age and version.... sti, uk ?

you are still relying on the maf sensor (simtek removes the need for it), there are two maps on a simtek and options of antilag and launch control..

I got to 270BHP on ecutek but now run syvecs and it's much better! I know Simtek is a cheaper option and is very well respected but I'd pay the extra and go for syvecs based on my experience.

Ecutek is defo sufficient, I have simtek but would have gone ecutek if it was available for V2's There's alot to be said for retaining the many factory settings of the standard ECU Dual fuel doesn't really matter unless you want to run really funky fuel, LC is great only if you have the transmission to cope with it and antilag is fun but gets boring after a while.
