Noticed today car was runing hot,so turned engine off and check radiator for water, there is water in the rad but heaters were blowing cold, after checking this the ars heaters started blowing hot and temperature went down to normal, the cars rad fans are on permenant and the radiator is cold and the bottom hose is cold but the heaters are still blowing out very hot air and car is at normal tempreture, any advice welome its a my95 import wrx turbo all standard apart from dv and exhaust, could it be thermostat and if so how easy are they to change.
Could be the thermostat, but could also be an airlock, the water pump packed/packing up, or a blocked system.
If you aren't sure, get help with it BEFORE you do any expensive damage: overheating can knacker the headgaskets.

It is very likely the thermostat, removing it only requires removing 2 (or is it 3) bolts from where the bottom rad hose gets into the block. You might have to remove the radiator as well to get easier access.
