Default 6 speed box speedo - 5 speed impreza

Ive just removed everything to make way for the 6 speed box, diff etc. looking at the 6 speed its got a electrical speedo i guess, an the 5 speed ive removed has a mechanical, do i unbolt the eletrical plug to make way for the mechanical off the 5 speed? 5speed box -ty752vbcaa 6speedbox - ty856wn2ca

Yup, i removed it and screwed my manual one in it's place works perfect.

does this count for all the conversions from cable to electrical? I have put a MY01 6MT into a my95 ra. but I cant get the speedo to work....

I put a MY01 STi 6 speed into my 93 RA also, and have just switched to the cable.

However I am going to convert to Electronic, their are 3 wires, i believe one is Positive, one negative and one signal.

But i will be checking the wiring diagram to ensure, done a similar conversion before on a Vauxhall.

hm, I guess its something wrong with my cable then. cause its not working at all.

check it hasnt pulled out of the back of the speedo slightly when u adjusted its position for the 6 speed.If your athletic you can fit your arm up by the clutch pedal and push it back in.

I did that today, but I could not feel if it was out of place or not.





as you can see on the picture, its missing some plastic but that shouldnt be the problem?!
