It will not have a version mark as it is a MY97 UK Turbo 2000 Wagon (facelift). If it was a STi then it would be a Version 3.

Just tell them its an MY97 UK turbo, as b13bat said, your car doesnt have a version.

If your car is an MY98 then it should also have needed the ecu and part of the loom changing to run properly as the engines between the phase 1.5 (MY97/98 cars) and phase 2 (99/00 cars) are different.
One of the easiest ways to tell is the steering wheel as the 99/00 cars have an embossed (silver/black) momo centre, the MY98 cars is just stamped on, and the brakes will be 2 pot front on the MY98, 4 pots on the 99 onwards (turbo's)
Mappable ecu's came in on the phase 2 engines (MY99)
