what version
does any one know what version my impreza is?
i am trying to get a knock sensor but have been asked what version it is?
im not sure about this?
its a uk wagon 1997 turbo 2000?

so are all uk cars my97, my98, my99, my00 etc? which versions of these has the mappable ecu?
my car is an s reg, so be my 98?
its running a 2000 (w), my00 engine and box from a 2000 year car.

If your car is an MY98 then it should also have needed the ecu and part of the loom changing to run properly as the engines between the phase 1.5 (MY97/98 cars) and phase 2 (99/00 cars) are different.
One of the easiest ways to tell is the steering wheel as the 99/00 cars have an embossed (silver/black) momo centre, the MY98 cars is just stamped on, and the brakes will be 2 pot front on the MY98, 4 pots on the 99 onwards (turbo's)
Mappable ecu's came in on the phase 2 engines (MY99)
