TYPE R WATER SPRAY
Yes they should have it if the car is standard of course if someone has been changing things perhaps had a front mount intercooler fitted then they may have removed it. The inlet manifold on it would also have been red when new. Mine is silver as I had the engine out for a lot of work an decided just to have it recoated silver as opposed to the original red, again someone could have gone down that route.

As Ron said, it could be a wrx type R, in which case you probably have ABS, no IC spray, lower rev range (7.5k red line and not 8k), 2 pot front brakes (they wont have subaru on them), single pot rear brakes (smaller front/rear discs), different interior, though check the code on the vin plate on the pass side suspension strut under the bonnet.

No they did the wrx type r pretty much from 3-6, abs was an option in place of the ic water spray (the unit takes up the same spot), but confirm all the rest like the brakes, rev counter etc.

No the WRX doesnt have the dccd, you need to check the codes on the vin plate as i said before, you will know if its an STI or if its just had the cosmetic changes then
