Save yourself some time and sell it on as it serves no purpose on an Impreza

The header tank on an Impreza is above the turbo and due to the natural convection of water, the turbo will continue to be cooled after switch off. If you really want to effectively cool your car after a good run - drive off boost for the last mile or so and you will do way more than a turbo timer could ever hope to regardless of the engine it's fitted to

I'd be interested in knowing how easy they are to fit as well.

Not going to use mine to cool the car down. Want it for warming the car up on a morning over winter. Got a P1 with standard alarm and immobiliser so I want to be able to remove the key and alarm the car with the engine warming the car up and defrosting it etc...

Don't worry. I don't want to warm the car up before driving it hard, just to defrost it and warm it up inside over winter (start work very early when it's cold). When I want to drive the car hard I warm it up by just driving round steadily until the oil temp gets to about 70C

undo either the plastic cowling from steering column or undo the dash panel below it to expose the steering column loom ,
if remember there is a blue square type plug going to the ignition
undo and plug hks loom inbetween and other plug into timer
tap the 1 wire into the handbrake earth going to the lever under cowling think its purple.
there may be an earth to be connected from timer thats it!

If you have HKS loom for Impreza is straight forward,if not will be nightmare.

But is big but, save yourself money and hassle, few months back i've fitted HKS TT which doesn't work with Toad Alarm(maybe some others)

can you turn the automatic mode off? i don't want to use it to cool down the car so want to be able to permanently disable the automatic mode.
