Default Rumbling and clunking from the rear

Got one noise sorted and another comes along, they joy's or Impreza ownership

Just started getting a rumbling and clunking noise from the rear near side of the car. It drive's fine, feels normal on the road but when on over run/decelerating I get this strange noise.

Any ideas??

Thanks P1, that's what I'm thinking.

The strange thing is I only get it on over run, driving normally I don't hear a thing??

Anyone else?

cv joint? prop joint? IMO a wheel bearing would give a noise during acceleration and cruise and cornering.

Thanks r1c.

So a wheel bearing you would hear all the time? never had one go before.

I'll get the CV joint looked at. A few months ago I had the caliper on that corner stick and the wheel got very hot. I guess that could have buggered the grease on the joint?
