FMIC & Remap Problem?????

FMIC & Remap Problem?????
Hi,
This is my first post on here so go easy on me please.....lol!
Afraid my first post is with a problem (or problems) and I'm hoping someone can help me if possible or point me in the right direction. I have a Newage Bugeye WRX that until recently was standard.
This week I have fitted the following:
Firstly, if I drive with full throttle and then suddenly lift to part throttle, the car stutters quite violently - this is most pronounced in second & third gears. Could this be a problem associated with the DV set-up?
Secondly, if I drive flat out there is some initial lag (as expected with the FMIC), the car then begins to pick up at 3000rpm before there being a real surge at 4000rpm. However, as the revs then rise to between 4500 - 4800rpm the car then feels as though it is hesitating (holding back) before a further pull of power at around 5500 rpm which holds almost to the redline at 7000 rpm. Does this sound like a mapping problem? The car almost feels as though the surge of power at 4000rpm produces too much boost, this is then pulled by before slowly being increased again???? I may however, be totally on the wrong lines here though.....???? I don't have a boost guage fitted (it's on my list to do in the near future).
I did initially wonder if this may be a spark plug issue so have fitted new NGK spark plugs which have made no difference.
Can anyone PLEASE help as I need to travel some large distances next week and need to get this resolved ASAP - ideally tomorrow / over the weekend.
Many thanks in advance.

This week I have fitted the following:
- Japspeed FMIC.
- Baily DV12 BOV (VTA) connected to a Flange Adapter and port on the intercooler pipe work.
- Perrin EBCS Pro 3-port boost controller (plumbed in to the FAST RESPONSE Mode - Interruption type - as advised by my engine mapper).
- Fitted an induction kit and modified the original inlet scoop to direct cold air to it.
- Had the car remapped locally by someone who is well respected in the area for general mapping, although he does not specialise in Subaru's.

Thanks for the fast replies.
I now realise a specialist Subaru Mapper would have been the better option, but I am where I am now and just want to identify the cause of the issue(s) - the map may not be the problem??? This guy has mapped a number of Subaru's in the past - in fact it was at his suggestion I installed the 3-port boost controller, so I presume the guy knows what he is talking about, even if he doesn't soley specialise in scoobies?
I am indeed running the standard Turbo - the only mods are as I listed in the original thread.

It sounds like a combination of the induction kit and DV - I really would get it mapped by a specialist before you head into real problems.
I know it's not what you want to hear but I think it's best you get it mapped by the likes of Bob Rawle, JGM, Race Dynamix, Enginetuner etc.
Where are you located?

I'm in Manchester. I think I will go down the specialist mapper route, but in the short term I need to get to an immediate 'safe' solution as I need to use the car next week to cover a lot of miles (I have not choice on this.....).
I have the chance to get the guy who mapped it to look at the car tomorrow and take it from there - just trying to arm myself with better knowledge before I go and see him.
What do you think could be the problem with the induction kit & DV???

Also, to add that a friend has been in the car this evening who used to be very clued up on Scoobies. He previously owned a similar car and it was remapped by Richard Bulmer (Ex-WRC Engineer) and worked for TSL and now owns Trackive solutions apparently. Anyway.....my mate recons he initially had the exact same problem with the part throttle stutter. He reckons on a return visit it took Richard a good while to sort but he's not sure what the cause was.....he had an STi top mount / not a FMIC and used the standard airbox with green panel filter.

If you come off the throttle and then floor it do you get what feels like and is massive turbo lag? If you do then it's because the when the DV exhausts the boost pressure and then the turbo then needs to build up more boost. I'd get a recirculating DV re-installed before you get it remapped - I'm assuming you have a vent to atmosphere type (VTA) fitted.
A friend had a similar problem with an induction kit - hesitation when on the road and when pulling away. He had changed from an HKS to a K&N induction system but needed the MAF rescaled and map changed to suit the different air intake.
I'd drive it very lightly and keep it off boost until you can get the map changed. I think there's a very good open source mapper in your area called Andrew Carr who I'd contact if I were you.
I'm not an expert by any means but I would take your car to someone who is.

Thanks for the recommendation guys - will bare this in mind in the next few weeks, but don't think I'll be able to get it booked in before Monday when I will be away (with the car).
Exhaust wise, the car is running the complete standard system (including all cats) but with an uprated back box. I'm aware these need upgrading ideally as well but plan to do this in the near future. Wanted to upgrade bit by bit. Not sure what software was used other than it wasn't ECUTEK.

WTF? Someone who has joined SN in the last year that can spell, isn't using text speak, and is willing to listen to advice that doesn't include the word 'mint'
As above, get it to a good mapper (And ditch the VTA, it does nothing for you apart from sound silly )

Thanks for all the advice - very much appreciated!!
I have booked to go back to the guy who has mapped it tomorrow to have it hooked up and see exactely what is going on i.e. is it over boosting and then being over corrected or is there some other issue.
In the longer term I will definately look to get it remapped - maybe by Andrew Carr - hope to have a decat exhaust set-up by then so will aim to have this fitted first.
Thanks again.
