Car: i have an 06 2.0l Uk STI, with tein suspension.

Problem: I have a nocking noise that seems to be coming from all round the car.

It started at first knocking at the rear, sounded like play in the prop, so took it to subaru and they had the diff checked by a gearbox specialist, and checked there records and found it had had a new prop in 2008. the dif was stripped tollerances measured and put back together and refitted as all was good. They checked all bushes droplinks and said they were fine. It now has been knocking for the past few months and cant work out the problem. It seems like it is all round the car.

It seems to be all the time, no matter whether im on a bumpy road or accellerating or decellerating or turning.

I can't think of anything unless it could be gearbox mounts or engine mounts. engine seems solid tho no unusual movement when revved at standstill and no knocking. I wonder whether my driveshafts are knackered as the car is lowered, and this has put strain on them.

Im stuck HELP please!!!

only time i had anything like that it turned out to be my spare wheel had come loose in the boot , long shot i know but you maybe lucky

 

i do have a fire extinguisher sitting in there. I suppose it could be but it sounds like its all around the car.
