Default MY08 Auto Car wash

Hi,
Not a hugely technical question......

I've not long had my silver 2009 MY08 STi WRX hatchback (loving it by the way!) and it needs a wash.

Its 100% baltic outside, so I thought about taking it to one of those IMO/ARC semi automatic car washes. Then I looked at the car and decided the rear wiper or spoiler could get damaged.

Has anyone tried such a car wash, with a hatchback with the spolier???
Any feedback on paint work welcome too.

I'm a bit reluctant to leave it with a "supermarket" car wash as I'll probably never see it again!!!

Any advice greatfully received.
Thanks

Regardless of rear spoiler, I would never take a car of mine to one of them auto carwashes. I don't trust me, and on such a new car would be a shame to ruin the paintwork with some shabby giant spinning brush.

Surely there must be a normal hand carwash in your area? And the hand car wash at my local tescos is really good. But I don't leave it with them,I just wait.

Thanks folks.
I'll have a look round for a hand car wash where I get to stop with the car.

In the meantime I'd best break out the meguirs and 10 extra thick coats!!
Cheers for the advice.
