Default servicing stress!

hi all, i'm currently doing another service on my 1994 subaru impreza sti import. Its now on 65000 miles so im giving it quite a major overhaul. So far i've done an oil and filter change using a genuine subaru oil filter and silkolene fully synthetic oil. I've replaced the plugs with new ngk iridiums, changed the fan belt and swapped the gearbox and diff oil.

I was wondering if I should get a genuine subaru fuel filter for £30 or just get a cheap £7.50 one. How important is it to use a genuine subaru part? Also I want to replace the timing belt- should I buy a full kit and replace all the pulleys and tensioner as well or just change the belt? again how important is it to use genuine subaru parts?

Thanks in advance!! all advice greatly appreciated...

Timing belt kit is here.

And fuel filter is here.

I have these exact items fitted to mine with zero issues.

Edit: Just remove the belt cover before you order and make sure no one has modded the tensioner for the hydraulic type.

Have had 2 timing belts and used a complete kit both times. Well, RCM did it. RCM now do the kits with Cosworth belts too if u require even more belt strength! Lol
