Hello everybody. I have a problem buying a decat for my 2002 bugeye jdm sti. I have brought one from hayward and scott and it was about 4 inch's to short even though they have said its the right one. has anybody brought one from japspeed for this model and was it any good?

 

Exactly what part of the exhaust did you buy?

 

Hi Tony. I brought the part from the turbo to the centre section and explained to h&s what I had and what i needed and it was still wrong. plus the hole for the O2 sensor was in the wrong place.

 

So basically its 4 inches too short from the downpipe to the centre section?
That sounds as though they have sent you the right downpipe, but it may be that someone has replaced your exhaust system with an MY05 system which has a longer downpipe and shorter centre section.
Measure how long your centre section is, I have an MY05 one here, if they both measure the same then you need the centre also, they are not expensive but you know you need to have the car remapped asap with a full decat dont you?

Hi Tony, thank you for all your help. I will measure it tonight when I get home. This is the last problem I have before it goes to get remapped buddy. Ive only just had the centre section and back box fitted. They are a jap spec zerosport super leadger system that wasnt cheap.
