Default rear brake seized

hi guys had my 99 parked up for 6 months now and someones left the hand brake on (not me).
problem is the drivers rear is completly seized on, ive tryed hitting it with a big hammer to no joy.
i started to take it apart the other day but could not get the brake disk of at all.
i removed the caliper and it seems like the hand brake is not holding it but it just wont move.
can anyone help

your probably going to need new handbrake shoes....i work out near an airport carpark and used to get this alot when people come home after holidays...normally i jack the car and remove the wheel and a few sharp blows of a hammer to the centre of the disc or drum should free it up...in your case the shoe is obviously bonded to the disc and now will prob break away from the shoe lining once the disc is removed....

Have you relased the handbrake shoe adjuster inside the drum? You access it through a small slot on the back of the hub, there should be a rubber bung in the hole.
