i've got loads of the oil to re-oil it, but is there an alternative to the cleaner to save me buying some?
there's a long list of things not to use, petrol, thinners etc so do they use a secret mixture of chemicals?
cheers,
Paul

Depends how bad it is mate? You could use a small amount of washing up liquid with warm water and a ittle bit of all purpose cleaner to. Get a small paint brush to loosen some dirt off then rinse it for a while.
Place it in the sun (if you get any at the mo) or place it in a airing cupboard.

i wouldn't have thought your idea with soapy water would be a problem, it's cotton rather than paper after all, i think i'll give it a go.
cheers
