Default Exhaust Gasket Sealant?

Anyone know of/had experience with a gasket sealant?

i want to double-safe seal on my downpipe/centre section after some real annoying leak issues.
found Permatex sealers but there are so many millions of types, wondered if anyone has used any or can recommend one?

cheers chaps.

i've got a full hayward and scott system, downpipe, centre, centre back part, all 2.5 inch, and the back box is a blitz nur spec S. The spec R without the resonator pipe.

Changed the turbo/downpipe gasket, had some soot on the join, but a blow in the donut gasket part is showing now... Is this donut ring the only gasket needed for it? I was gonna change it for a new one then seal it up with some gunk..
