Hi guys, does anyone know the difference in weight between a 1995 RA and a 1995 WRX, Apart from side skirts? Both standard of course. Is there any Difference? Thanks in advance

The RA also does away with electric windows, electric antenna and ABS but adds an intercooler water spray. I don't think you'll find a difference of more than 30kg between the cars.

The main reason for its livelier performance is the close ratio gearbox.

Its mainly things like the above, and also all the sound deadening, believe it or not, they are not much lighter than some of the UK cars.

Also done without fog lights, air con, underseal and radio, The total saving was indeed 30kg. ( according to my book anyway )

 

Book weight for my 95 WRX RA is 1170kg I belive, no idea on the standard WRX.

 

Sound deadening is that mainly behind the dash? i already have no air con no abs etc etc, Want to get perspex windows should save on a fair bit of weight.

IIRC my MY93 WRX is 1220kg and the MY94-96 was 1240kg.
