Bust radiator
#1
One of the plastic ends of the radiator on my 94 WRX STI has got a small crack which is leaking. Is it possible just to replace the plastic ends or do I need to buy a whole new radiator? The rest of the radiator is in mint condition (being hidden behind the aircon one).
Just this week I had the header tank replaced as it was leaking. Could these leaks be due to something more serious?
Does anyone have the contact details of 'Grade A' breakers?
Thankyou,
Paul

A lot of jap manufacturers seem to make their plastics of a strange material. This is a common problem along with the plastic expansion bottle fitted to the inlet manifold on early cars. SOme rad specialists may be able to locate a new end, or replace from a damaged rad if u can get one. A new one can be got for less than £150, which isnt that much for peace of mind. You dont want a botch job to fail you here. Reccomend replacing it with a new one, or a good sec hand if you can find one. ALL sub turbos from 90 legacy turbo to 96 impreza ( and probably to MY00 ) use the same rad

The same thing happened on my old MY94WRX, the top hose had gone stiff transferring vibrations into the rad joint!!. The radiator was repaired but failed again after a few months, a new one was then sourced. This was all covered by the warranty on the car at the time so I was very lucky.
