Car idles fine but then...
A few days ago my 99 turbo cut out on me whilst driving and I couldnt get it going again. It has now sat for a few days and went to try it again and fired into life as normal but as soon as I tocuhed the accelerator it cuts out again. I borrowed my mates maf sensor but no luck. I have an apexi ecu but I cant imagine that to be at fault considering it was driving fine and issued no engine management light. Any ideas?

Can you explain to me what you mean by CEL? The fuel pump was replaced with a walbro unit only a few months back and on ignition, I guess the noise I hear for a few seconds coming from the back is the fuel pump priming?
For my car to drive and boost no problem one minute and then cut out the next has puzzled me My Apexi monitor was freezing on all the failed start up attempts which lead me to think there may be a problem with the ecu but is that even possible?

CEL = Check Engine Light. Apexi doesn't store fault codes, the CEL is usually set by the mapper to flash when det is detected.
ECU's can fail. Have you tried it with the standard ECU, if you have it?

Funny you say that as my immobiliser failed earlier in the year and full alarm/immobiliser was replaced with a cobra system so cant be that. Im sure Andy must have said that about the apexi ecu when he mapped the car but I was obviously too excited to get out on the road. I do have the original ecu so that was my next step. How would you know if the ecu had failed?
