Hi mate you are need remap(or just tweak map),because you are have fitted decated downpipe etc.,and now your new downpipe overboosting the turbo.
Drive off the boost until remap or tweak

standard ecu isn't mappable on a 98, so will need to replace the ecu.

problem your describing sounds like the ecu is struggling to control the boost, thats where the map comes in.

Boost leak possible or check all your vacum pipe as a small split will cause over boost is it ticking over a little lumpy?Check actuator/wastgate.
I ahve its same problem before with Fiat Punto GT and this cause fitting a 3'' exhaust system straight through caused a world of overboost problems.
Maybe if you have fitted a new downpipe the wategate could be catching.

fit the front mount before its gets mapped, to fit you have to fit an induction kit anyway cos the pipe work interfiers with the standard airbox setup.

tbh i'd get it to a specialist and get them to have a look an advise, you want to sort the issue, or at keast get it confirmed properly, that thats the issue befor eyou caryr on modding making things worse
