Does it have a heater blower resistor as these control the blower speeds and if faulty can cause it not to work. Not sure on a scoob wether they are fitted though?

Yes there is a resistor, this is how it controls the fan speed. Normally it's next to the blower, about the size of a credit card (but deeper) the one I looked at had a brown plug going into it. Normally you would find it won't work on low speeds, just flat out if it goes but that's not to say it's completely FUBAR. You may have a broken wire or lost an earth. Hope this helps.
