Default oil pressure 'normal'?

hello all,

i was just wondering whats the normal idle oil pressure?
starts out about 100psi... after its warmed up its about 50... then after about 10 mins its drops to about 42 and gently fluctuates between 40-42...

this normal (for a 2.5 wrx 06) ?

only reason im worrying is because last oil change i found a bit of oil under the big plastic undertray.

cold idle = 100psi = 6bar = check
warmed up engine = 50psi to 40psi = 3.5 to 2.8bar = think that's okay?

What does she rise to when you give it WOT/load?

Not to thread hijack, but i've just fitted a pressure gauge and concerned by the readings?

Cold idle 100psi, warm idle 40-50 psi. Both seem normal as above.

Any throttle, or load on the engine and it goes up to about 90, WOT 100...

That doesn't seem right to me. Not when the gauge only goes up to 100!

If the gauge only goes up to 100psi, how do you know the car doesn't go further?

To the OP: your pressures look OK to me

I was looking this up and according to the subaru workshop manual (for the 2.0L anyway) it should be no less than 14psi @ approx 80 degrees when idling. That seems low to me but that is based upon a gauge being fitted to the bung above cylinder 3 which is where most gauges are fitted

Mine drop to about 35psi on warm idle, but my car seems to idle a little lower than others which may explain that.

Mine after a long run idles at about 35, after a short work run it fluctuates at idle really subtly between 42 and 45.

During normal driving it's hitting around the 70-90 mark and when a give it WOT in third up to redline it hits about 100-110??

Skydive, mine actually sounds the same as yours. My gauge goes up to 160psi though. it's maxing out WOT at about 100-110 in 3rd at redline. I'm gonna have to see if it goes higher next time I hit a motorway, keep running out of road he he

Mines roughly the same 100-110psi at start up, Warmed up idling at about 40-50psi, after a long run drops to about 35-40 psi but giving it WOT goes back up to 100psi, but mine is the EJ205 2.0 not the 2.5, not that there should be much difference if any tho

Well cheers boys that's definitely put my mind at rest.
When I changed the filter I found some oil about the place, took the plastic under tray off and found some in that too. Bit of a mystery because I hadn't lost any oil either. Plus the pressures seem normal compared to what you lads have said
