BLitz NUR spec R HAS TO GO!!!
I know someone has already started a tread about changing the blitz nur r exhaust, well I am in the same boat but actually want a exhaust that is alot quieter but 1 that will not effect the performance. I currently have a Kakumei 3inch down pipe with the blitz nur spec r converted to full 3inch bore all the way.
So qhat should I get?? (it has to be quiet!!)

How about keeping what you have, but just have a sports silencer welded in to your choice of level (sound), there are loads of exhaust fabricators who would do this for not a lot of money.

See my one for sale here:-
Jasma 3" quiet system
Pipework is 3" but I think it narrows to OEM 2.5" for the d/p -- but you could modify the flange to accept your 3" d/p, like you did for the Blitz.
This is the quietest system I've heard on a Impreza.

I used to have a NurSpec and had to change it as I was working shifts and thought I was waking the whole neighbourhood. I changed it for a Milltek. Inside the car there is no drone at all.. barely any louder than a std prodrive system. From outside the car it has a great burble and really sounds very good. Louder than standard, but not stupid..
I'm in two minds whether to swap back to something loud again, as its more of a weekend car now..

If you want to quieten the existing system, getting a middle box added in the centre section to act like a noise suppressor. You dont want to hack up the back section as it would make it worthless. No re-map would be required, as it would alter flow rates enough to make a difference.

It just 'smooths' the sound more - makes it a bit mellower - rather than the more rawer sound you'd get if the centre was a simple straight-thru tube.
But no doubt the smoother report makes you perceive the sound to be slightly less loud...?

We're on pretty good terms with the local custom exhaust fab garage.
They fabricate and pack their own boxes, apparently they can reduce dB, but as you said maybe it is just easier on the ear, so beneift is more perceived than actual.
Got a quiet exhaust on my car at the moment, cant wait to get a full fat unadulterated straight through unsilenced system

Well I gave pipecraft in basildon a call earlier today and spoke to dean, he said bring the car down on the weekend and he will see what he can do. Also my car has pops n bangs which i wanted removed but think if the exhaust was abit quieter i wouldnt mind keeping the pops n bangs

Told you already, find Revolution exhausts!! You won't get rid of the pops and bangs mate unless you decide to stick a CAT in her or have it remapped and ask the mapper to remove them

I had my Spec R on for 36 hours before it came off - way too loud for everyday use (and too boomy IMO)
I ended up taking the recommendation of the garage who look after it and got a Jetex system - no louder than the standard Prodrive system I had before at idle/commute speeds, but nice and loud flat out with a wicked rasp!
Incidentally it made the same power on the rollers with both systems.
