Default camcorder/trackday cam

i'm wanting to buy a trackday camera set up for the car,but i'm in a bit of a dilema of what to buy.i have seen a few that look ok with the suction pads to fix to the window, but then i got to thinking.why dont i just buy a good camcorder that i can use in the car, then when i'm not in the car i can use at shows, around the house, holidays etc.so my question is.whats the difference between a trackday cam and a camcorder and would a camcorder be any good in the car.thanks.

Bigarf just any hand held camcorder with the suction pad holder to the windscreen works but you have to remember to tie the pads via straps to something solid in the car just incase the suction pad come unstuck I have an old suction pad set up which is gathering dust in the garage that you can have I woulnt be using it and can deliver to september/october grudgement days.I have also seen folk taping their mobile phones to the rear view mirrors set on video to get shots as well.

thanks for the offer mate.i think i will buy a camcorder first and try it in the car to see what kind of quality it gives.then even if it isnt right for the car i can always use it elsewere, but if it does work ok then i have the best of both worlds.
