Default gems ecu vs simtek?

recently bought car, it had a lot of work done to it and i was lead to believe it was using a simtek ecu, on closer inspection of the receipts, i have noticed that the mapping work is quoted as gems remap. is there much of difference between the 2, or will i struggle for a good quality map/mapper?

No ideas about the difference but as for finding a good quality mapper shouldn't be too hard I do think a few of them hang about on here
