Default help

Hi.
im new to the forum so i hope this is in the right place.
Would like a bit of help if that would be possible,i recently bought my first scooby which is a Lreg classic shape but unfourtunatly the bottom end has gone,However ive bought a new lump for it but the new one has the coil pack on the inlet and my old engine had individual ones.So im just wondering what is the best way round this?
I don't want to change the inlet as its a sti one that is on the new engine.

Also i believe that bottom end failure is a common thing so what things can i do to help prevent this?

Any help would be great as im dying to get my car back on the road.
cheers
baz

Hi, sound like you have a late spec engine, where you probly need to fit the same as your taking out. It's best not to mix and match parts. Got anymore info on your car ie which model and mods, we may be able to help more. Are you saying you bought an sti engine, and your car is not an sti?

Hey,The car is a 93 wrx classic and was running with few mods just exhaust , filter and was told that it had a re-mapd ecu. That was until my bottom end went bang(thought id see if it went past the jap 120 mark). So after a bit of searching i bought a new lump that has got a sti bottom end and wossner forged pistons. However on this inlet there are much longer down pipes than my old one and i was told it was a sti one(dnt know how true this is as im new to scoobys)and the coil pack is mounted top of the inlet,un like my individual ones on my old engine. But i was hoping in keeping this inlet on.(plus it red lol)

So how do i work round this?

Oh one more thing he was running 550 injectors with this engine (which i didnt get) and on closer inspection the fuel rail is twice as big as my old one?.So will my standard injectors fit and will it run ok?

cheers

Its in the centre of the manifold

in that case then you can remove the inlet manifold and all ancillary components from you old engine and refit to your new engine and all will be good again
