Default exhaust problems

ok well ive started the ball rolling on the mods on my 99 t2000. i bought a japspeed rear box for £70 which i think is reasonable. first problem is its a 3" bore and the second problem is that even if the bore was right its about 2 or so inches short of the centre pipe. my question is this:

if i change the centre pipe to one from another maker is it likely to reach the box and also will i then have to change the downpipe to a larger bore or can i buy a centre pipe that will fit the gap with no further additions. any help appreciated guys

You need a custom made centre section to fit the Japspeed back box.

Why change the centre pipe again ,and you could still face the same problem ?. Easiest solution imho is to have the end section of your backbox going from 3 inches to 2.5 inches that way it can mate up with your std centre pipe as an example:

If you have a local Mr Tyre store near you they are also powerflo distributors, and could weld you a new flange on to your backbox for £20 -£30, so no messing about with downpipes ,etc.

yeah ideally i just wanted to sort the backbox to fit. not a number chaser so massive power gains are not required

Sounds like a good idea, you won't have any fitment problems with them - like a glove
