Default Induction kit

My 05 JDM Sti has an induction kit fitted low down in the inside wing , with the MAF sensor wiring extended so the MAF is next to the filter. Can I refit the Maf to its original position inside the engine bay and keep the filter in the inner wing? Thanks Steve.

Not a tech m8 but i`d guess you can and i think the mad would read better with it being further away as the airflow will be more constant, might need a tweek on the map tho?

What make of kit is this? All wing kits I've seen have the MAF mount in the std location.

Sure you can relocate the MAF back, but there needs to be a suitable boss to mount it in and a remap to cope with the altered air flow/volts response, which presumably was needed when this kit first went in?

Is there any way that the alloy section in the wing is mixed up the that section shown in the engine bay?

Put it back to standard, that looks a horrid attempt at a CAIK

Thanks for the advice. The car was fitted with this when I bought it. It seems to be good quality, but I don,t know the make of it. It was fitted and mapped by Dyno demon of Neston for the previous owner. I,ll be there on Tuesday so I will see what they have got to say and I,ll let you know. Steve.
