hi all i have a 94 type ra import. i have bought a few mods ready to go on the car and i was checking the ecu earlier on tonight and it had a sticker on it sauying (HPI- high perfomane improvements) ?????? is there any chance its been chipped or mapped.!!!!! the car has had a front mount + decat + bigger fuel pump!!!
if it has been chipped can i fit my new decat + front mount???
any ideas would be most appreciated

If it hasn't then it very likely needs to be. Plus what other mods can you not see? I would suggest that you get a mapper to have a look at it. If in doubt I strongly suggest you don't 'boot it' until someone has had a look. Engines are expensive. For the sake of a few £100 for someone to give it the once over vs the risk of many £1000s for a rebuild, I wouldn't chance it.

 

the best way to find out if its been chipped is to take a picture of the inside of the ecu and post it up on here, and we will tell whats what

 

Open up the ecu,take a picture and somebody will be able to see if has been chipped or not.
