Default Arrghhh!! im sick of buying broken fu**ing DV's of dishonest people!

sorry for the rant its just third time ove bought a broken valve second hand, i know ''dont buy second hand'' bt with a dv you at least expect it to be ok. 1st 1 was from a member on here MIGHTY K who is nothing less than a 2 bob c**t and havent been able to get hold of him since he charged me £40 for a totally screwed Forge. Latest arrival is a baileys which looks fine but when on its onlu making a noise a high revs and sounds nothing like a baileys. Do you think taking it apart and cleaning will help? i got it off ebay so if it is totally gone ill be reporting him if he doesnt give me my £40 back!! Any one got 1 going cheap that actually works

Best thing to do is stick the standard one back on.

might be worth a try mate but if you contact forge they supply free repair kits for most of their DV's.

You could try taking it apart, they are all fairly simple devices.

But I wouldn't bother TBH. Stick with the standard valve, your car WILL run so much better with it.

When you say it doesn't sound like a "Baileys", what do you mean exactly? Is it a higher pitch then you expected? Dump valves sound different on different setups. Your Bailey sounds like it's working, but probably has too strong a spring in it. Are Bailey valves adjustable?

Is it a newage DV?

If so the Baileys DV12 are known for the diaphrams breaking and stay open even on idle.

Forge are good. But the springs may need changing. Unbolt it if a Newage and strip the bugger. Wash the whole thing bit by bit using some all purpose cleaner etc. Re-grease the inside of the piston area (I used a combo of 3 in 1 oil and some high temp grease) fitted new springs (smaller spring and in my case the RED Spring). If your car isn't modified then a Blue Spring will be just fine.
Bolt together and put on the car.

Failing that have you checked that the DV gasket on the TMIC isn't shafted?

My other advice would be............stick to the factory re-circ DV.

All this hassle, angst and wasted money when, as above, the standard DV is the best one to use, unless there's a really specific reason why it isn't...

What model year of car do you have ?,looking at your profile pic would say a 96 - 98 so i am guessing that it does not bolt onto the intercooler directly, but comes off a pipe to the right of the intercooler and connects to that.If this is the case, then make sure you check the pipe for leaks,as well as the vacume pipe.If it is a 99/00 that bolts to the intercooler, then check the vac vac pipe.
Regarding taking it apart ,they are very easy to dismantle(5 x 4mm bolts i think),and it might just need a new spring .A std recirc valve from a scrappy would only cost £10 - £20,and seldom go wrong and are good for 350+ bhp

The dump valve you have should be a dv26 which is a twin piston dumpvalve, and runs on a diaphragm which supports 2 springs,& either of these could be worn. The forge runs a single piston and is much better put together imho.If you are adamant you want another one then checkout the link below:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BLITZ-DUAL-DRI...item4cf0744061

The blitz is a fair bit more robust than the other 2,and is also louder and can be used up to 1.2 bar with no need for adjustment/stiffer spring, etc - might be worth a £40.00 bid lol
If you have had enough of getting shafted by people then opt for the std recirc valve imho

If you still have the forge one speak to forge they are a very helpful company (always good to me in the past) they may be able to help.
