Question cambelt change..holding crank pully still

Hi all
Whats the easiest way of holding the crank pully still when your undoing the bolt and don't have the specialist subaru tool. On a 1999 uk 2000

Tried that and with someone pressing the brake pedal.....still spins over??

it really shouldnt , i have done it endless times
put it in 5th , pull handbrake on hard

you must not of had it fully in gear.

I insert a close fitting allen key in one of the holes and use a tyre lever between this and the socket as a bar to stop th pulley turning.

long bar against the chassis leg and turned over for a second(crank sensor disconnected),
Tightened up with the in 5th gear and handbrake on method.

Thought about cranking it over with bar in it but after popping it in 5 th gear it came undone so thanks to everyone for there help........scoobynet wins again
