air con not right !

air con not right !
had my air con regassed a while back (in november i think so it would be ok for summer)anyways it was not mega ice cold when done compared to other cars in our bodyshop but did the job,now its not so clever and needed,its coldish but not what it should be and i would like to know the following please 1,are newage air con systems any good on scoobys, 2,are there any difference in quality between the different air con gasses the companies could use 3,im right in thinking it should last longer than this has.or could i have another fault somewhere ? only thing i have done sinse is both front auxillary belts.car is my 02 sti. many thanks as im cooking

i think so tony,say they did and it was ok what would cause it to be so rubbish now ? a leak or compressor maybe ? i have called him and he is on holiday so wont see him till next week and my kids are cooking lol

Mine passed a vacuum test, but leaked instantly under pressure.
Pipe on the passenger side chassis rail had worn through at the retaining clip.

if a leak tho dunx i take it would not even get cool ? mine does get coldish just not as cold as i have felt on customers cars in and out of our bodyshop,is that down to the different makes of car having better air con systems than subaru or could there be a faulty pump or something ?

if there is a slight leak you could of lost some gas but still have enough in the system to allow the ac to work but not as efficient.
Vacuum tests can be hit and miss for detecting a leak as the vacuum on the system can seal leaks ie pull seals tight etc.
Did they add dye to the system?

Yes dye is a good for leak detection.
All r134a gas should be the same i would of thought and i don't honestly know what the ac performance is like in a newage.
Have you or can you compare it to another newage and if there is a difference i would of thought the first step would be to get the system checked again.
