Re-spray/dent smooth/dress up
I hope this is in the right section, but its been a long day and im tired.
Ive got a my99 uk turbo, in 64c mica green. Its now into its 11th year of life, and although i keep it as clean as possible, there are a few dings and scuffs i need to sort out.
What i would like to know is:
How much would it cost to get all the work done by a sprayer in the same colour?
Would it be easier to prep all the scuffs and bodywork myself before handing to sprayer?
Would there be much difference in cost if was to 'brighten up' the green a little?
Ive had a few prices from local sprayers to me, but want to get a feel for cost a little further from me, to see if anyone could help.
Many thanks,
Kris

- First of all, have all of the dents not broken/ruptured/disturbed any of the paint?
- Secondly, are they in easy places on the panels e.g. not in the swage line or any other deliberate creasing of bodywork?
- Finally, are all the dents well ABOVE the swage line on the front doors (and maybe the rears too)? As just above the swage, on the doors (certainly the fronts, anyway), is where the side impact beam is sited.
If you can answer an emphatic "yes" to all 3 questions, then the way to go would be to use a reputable PDR company...

All the dents (bout 4) are ok, no paint cracked.
They are above the swage line, the bonnet has some dings in the front (may be replaced)
Its the bumpers where inconsiderate old farts in tesco have scraped into me!
Any more recomendations?
thanks for the info

Yes, it's truly an art. I had a ding taken out on my old 93 WRX by Dents Plus - very impressed.
I've also got 4 separate tiny pin dents to get out of my STi 5 -- Dent-Technique will hopefully be sorting it tomorrow, Sat, or Mon... lol
