Default alloy radiator

hey everyone ive got an RB5 pretty much standard and my radiator has sprung a leak ive been looking at some on ebay, full alloy rads for about 120 quid ive seen some for a alot more. has anyone purchased 1 off ebay or is it worth paying the extra money? radtec want over 400 quid.

Ah right, sorry.

But a new one's plastic end tanks won't go hard and brittle until way after 10+ years anyway! So that'd be only £5 per year at most, if you bought that rad in the link?

I've just put one on like that, got it locally for £60 delivered, it LOOKED identical to the OE one in all respects. Two years guarantee.

It's working much better than the old one.

I managed to put a little hole in my old one, but it WAS 12 years old and owed me nowt. It was so old you only had to touch it for all the core to flake.

Better to do it now, on the drive in warm weather, than have IT decide to go in the middle of winter and have to replace it in freezing rain with 5 hours' daylight
