urgant What turbo should i have

Can any one help i have got a 05 reg wrx sti uk spec and i am not sure if the turbo i have is the right one

I have got a vf23 turbo on my scoob is this correct if not would it have done any harm to my engine and what is the correct turbo or what turbo can i put on without having to have a remap

 

Should be vf35 or vf34 can never remember when they swapped.
Just get it mapped for current turbo?

 

It should have a VF35.

 

vf35 mate ,and its a dam good turbo,

 

bit weird seomeone would change it the more I think about it.

the 2005 sti is a real peach.. hope you find a replacement

Thanks all i think the chap i got it from used and abused it and cut corners thats why it has a vf23 i think i have already spent loads on it crank seals - air intake pipe -gaskets - etc etc i am fed up but i luv it and really want it fixes the prob is i can only just afford a turbo let a loan a re-map lol

would the vf23 done any damage to my car and would you be able to go from a vf35 to a vf23 with out a re-map would it be ok to put same back on if really needed ?

 

Just a thought, but if the previous owner was the sort of person who cut corners maybe the car is still on its original VF35 map ?
Any mapper could confirm this by plugging in their laptop to check and if you travel to meet them they probably wouldn't charge much.
