Default Decat exhaust pipe

Hiya!

I've received my De-cat pipe which looks spot on. I've uploaded a picture though, as it has a hole in it. I'm sure this is supposed to be there, but can anyone just confirm this for me please? And also, what does this hole do?

I hope I haven't just asked a completely bone question! I'm new to this!

Cheers,

Chris.
