Default can you fit 2002 heads on a 1996 sti 555 short block?

Hi there im looking for a little help i am wondering if you can fit a set of 2002 sti heads with the AVCS to a 1996 sti 555 shot block ? or is this not possible or if so is there anything i should know before doing this thank you very much

yes it possible although i don't know the inns or outs of it, you will need to make sure you have the correct compression ratio and also don't forget to swap the crankshaft sprocket over as these are different i believe!

Yes it's possible but unless you're going to forge the short motor, and run decent power with a relatively large turbo then it's probably not worth the cost, time, effort.

You'll need an aftermarket ECU such as a Syvecs and need to run new wiring for the cam triggers and avcs solenoids. I'm in the process of putting AVCS heads on my 97 Type R and it's more involved than you might think.
