Default Engine/Turbo Intake

OK here's the score,I'm not technically up on turbo engines.
Can someone please explain how the air intake works on my WRX.
Under the bonnet there is a hose which draws air from inside the front valance through a K&N cone shaped filter. Is this intake for the turbo ?
What about the air that is drawn in through the bonnet scoop,is that also air for the turbo ? When do each or either intakes come into play..
Confused

The bonnet scoop is to force air down through the intercooler, which is cooling the air as it enters the engine.

Cooler air is more dense, so contains more oxygen.

Thanks for the reply. So,the air from the bonnet scoop goes into the engine via the inlet manifold normally aspirated through the intercooler ? Also air enters the engine via turbo through the flexi hose inside front valance and through K&N cone filter ?

Air taken in through your air filter is used to run the car make boost ect.(goes through the turbo then inside the intercooler to the engine).. The air that goes through the bonnet scoop is to cool the intercooler outside only!!!!
