Default split pipe?
can anyone cast an eye on this, is it a split pipe?

seems split a little up at the top

Think that`s just a protective outer layer. Split so it can be put over the pipe easy.

as dunx said it is called conduit and is used to protect all sorts of things from wiring to pipework.
