ecu upgrade
ive been advised by many people that i cant just upgrade my turbo 2000 ecu to an sti ecu as need to change maf, injectors and other things i cant remember and was told to just get a remap instead. ive found on ebay a remaped ecu thats 3 plug same as mine and had been maped for standard maf and injectors increasing boost to 1.1 bar and remaped fuel and ignition and says its just a plug and play straight swap and will work best with after market air filter and exhaust just want to know if would be the right move for me as sounds perfect?

What year is your car ?
That sounds like a chipped ecu where they change one of the chips to get them gains but after that you wont get anymore adjustment down the line if you decide to change more unless you buy something thats mappable.
If yours is a later classic then you can get your ecu mapped but if its an earlier than a v5 then you need a new mappable one like an apexi or simtek post a link to your ebay on and someone will be able to help a bit more

its a 97 turbo 2000 uk facelift with an sti intercooler and a blitz metal mesh induction kit i think the exhaust is standard 2.5" but has a big back box. so as most of the engine is standard this ecu would be perfect for me as he says its been mapped for standard injectors maf and turbo and is 3 plug same as my ecu. so this would be ok for my car and would work with no problems then? im not sure if ill upgrade anymore after as uses too much fuel when very high bhp i just want to boost what ive got a bit.
